Villa La Palagina is a historical mansion immersed in the olive groves and vineyards of Chianti, an exclusive venue perfect for a dream Tuscan wedding
If it is true that Italy is a land of poets, then Tuscany offers the best of the best: just think of Dante and Amerigo Vespucci. Rich in culture and natural beauty, Tuscany is also becoming increasingly sensitive to ecological and environmental issues. These are just some of the reasons why it is worth getting married in Tuscany, a region chosen by countless Italian and foreign couples for their dream wedding. Tuscany offers breathtaking scenery combined with unique excellence. Couples from all over the world opt for venues such as villas, farmhouses, private villages, castles, and luxury resorts immersed in nature. Holding a destination wedding in Tuscany means offering one’s guests the opportunity to enjoy everything one would ever want from a vacation in Italy, nature, art, culture, wellness, relaxation, and luscious food, all in just a few days.
Villa La Palagina embodies the very essence of the Tuscan style and spirit. This venue offers a unique experience for all those who seek a relaxing vacation in the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by nature and good food, as well as for couples who choose to fulfill their love dream by organizing a fairytale wedding. Located in the surroundings of Florence, Villa La Palagina is a historical mansion that overlooks the Chianti hills. Legend has it that in medieval times there was a monastery here, which was later transformed into a Renaissance villa. From the 16th century onwards, Villa La Palagina served as a holiday resort for many noble Florentines, including the Ricasoli and Corsini families.
I personally met Licia and Mickael, the leading stars of this wonderful love story, on the very day of their wedding. Our first encounter took place via Zoom call, as did all the subsequent meetings that served to finalize the organization of a dream wedding in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany. Licia is half Italian and half French, while Mickael is 100% French. They live and work in Germany and are a wonderful couple; they trusted me from the very first meeting and, without hesitation, chose me to organize such an important event as their wedding. They described me as a true guardian angel who assisted them in every way: from selecting the venue to the floral decor for the symbolic ceremony, dinner, and cutting of the cake, from the choice of the music and wedding favors to the search for a period Vespa… Since they could not travel to Tuscany before the event, I even took care of the wedding menu tasting on their behalf. It was a major responsibility, but a delicious treat too, because Villa La Palagina’s cuisine is truly exceptional. It was not the least bit difficult to reassure the bride and groom about the quality of the food and the helpfulness and professionalism of the personnel.
When I visited Villa La Palagina for the first time, I was mesmerized: a gorgeous period mansion rising atop a hill framed by typically Tuscan vineyards and olive groves. I was very excited, as I always am when I discover a new wedding or event venue; I immediately started exploring and studying the different spaces, and saw that every corner exudes a particular charm. Inside, the villa boasts halls and sitting rooms steeped in art, history, beauty, and elegance, not to mention the guestrooms, each furnished with the utmost attention to detail. As for the estate grounds, the side that faces the valley features a vast green lawn with two cypress trees and a beautiful magnolia tree that dominates the undisturbed scenery: this is where Licia and Mickael’s blessing was held. The park also includes an Italian style garden enhanced by a lovely fountain that faces the Villa’s main entrance, where Licia arrived from to walk down the aisle. The cocktail reception, featuring typical Tuscan products, was set up in this area. The dinner party was held in yet another lovely spot: a large gazebo, overlooking the extraordinary Tuscan landscape, nestled against verdant woods. Lush nature created the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding in the Chianti hills. What else can I say, Licia and Mickael’s wedding was a fantastic party as well as a mini-vacation, two unforgettable experiences for the many French and a few Italian guests who had the opportunity to stay in a historic villa and celebrate the wedding of this young, enthusiastic couple, so very much in love, with heartfelt joy. From the very beginning, the bride and groom showed their liveliness and happiness by dancing beautifully together, and so well that they looked like pros. Then there were speeches, videos, and, naturally, the cutting of the cake. Our staff was by their side throughout the event, from the arrival of the bride to the cocktail and so on… Matteo Migliozzi took care of the photo shoot, and the pics I have shown you will forever remind us of the unbridled joy and strong emotions of the day spent immersed in a landscape that looks different in every season but always resembles a beautiful postcard of Tuscany. All crowned by the notes of the saxophone played by Gianluca Baroncelli, who curated the musical entertainment.
