The destination wedding of Chiara and Alberto
Chiara and Alberto are a young couple from Milan, with a strong bond to Elba Island, one of the jewels of the Tuscan Archipelago, where they own a charming historic residence known as Villa Damiani. For their civil ceremony, Chiara and Alberto chose the 16th-century cloister of the ancient De Laugier Barracks, which can be reached via the pink stone staircase of Salita Napoleone, leading up to upper Portoferraio. From this location, one can enjoy a splendid view of the ancient Medici city, once known as Cosmopolis, thanks to a large square that provides access to the barracks’ cloister.
Both locations are also ideal for hosting an original reception, perhaps in a Medici or Napoleonic style, evoking the flavor of history. Chiara and Alberto, however, chose to follow the trend of the moment: the shabby chic style that dominated the Wedding Season 2016, which they reinterpreted in a classic key, following their own tastes and desires, also reflected in their completely original outfits. She wore a refined, slightly retro dress that perfectly matched Alberto’s blue suit, made distinctive by Bordeaux-colored suspenders and a lightly patterned papillon.
The celebration could only continue at Villa Damiani with a breathtaking wedding party, thanks to the view offered to all the guests from the family’s ancient terrace. The newlyweds’ dream continued at the Relais delle Picchiaie, from which the view over the gulf of Portoferraio and the Darsena Medicea is equally evocative and moving, dominated by the Torre del Martello. Chiara and Alberto fulfilled their dream on the island they have always loved, where they chose to bring to life a true project of Love.
