Pina and Gianpiero
When I talk about Tenuta La Chiusa, my heart swells and my face lights up. The Tenuta is something more than an agricultural estate that produces wine and olive oil. It is history, divine nature, pure magic unleashed from the encounter of natural and architectural beauties with an unequalled landscape of antique flavor. Everything at the Tenuta tells of its story: from the ancient walls that tie it and its imposing gates to the avenue of olive trees that opens up from the area of the Villa, or the little chapel, the avenue “guarded” by two ancient cypresses, the rows of white and pink oleander that push nearly all the way to the sea. I had “painted” this paradise with words for Pina over the telephone and, when she and her partner Gianpiero visited the Chiusa for the first time they were literally taken aback.
It was on Elba that Pina and Gianpiero conceived their little boy Mattia, who lovingly calls his mother mamminetta (little mama). They fell in love thanks to their shared passion for mountain bike and it was here that they spent their first bicycle vacation, participating in the “Capoliveri Cup”. And, so, that imposing gate, overlooking the tamarisks on the beach of Magazzini embracing the Portoferraio gulf, became the background for a picture framed by their love. At Tenuta La Chiusa, a symbolic wedding was held, trimmed in a romantic shabby chic style. An armchair under an oleander tree and an antique wooden horse, along with old style objects, turned this place into a magical venue, enriched by an arch covered with pomegranate, lavender and lisianthus. When the ceremony was over, the newlyweds and their guests moved to the area under the 19th century Villa to savor an aperitif based on products and wines typical of Elba. Then, after walking along the beach that from Chiusa leads to the small hamlet of Magazzini, waiting for them in the small harbor was the Thai Pan, a characteristic wooden boat that, followed by a head-spinning sunset, took them to Nisporto for a candlelit dinner at Aquasalata Restaurant. It was wonderful to hear the words, “Thank you for giving us this dream.”
