PIANOSA ISLAND

Green Wedding

The trend of eco-friendly or green weddings is a recent trend.  We started talking about sustainability in the 1980s. It took a long time for each individual to become aware of the importance of the environment and the protection of its ecosystem, attitudes that are found in many areas today. Throughout my professional career as a wedding planner, there has been no shortage of occasions where the displays took into account the wishes of spouses eager to avoid waste, cut flowers, and anything that could compromise the health of the environment. Back then I defined the style of this way of conceiving natural chic marriage, an initial approach to what we today call green marriage or sustainable wedding. At the basis of this interpretation and of the wishes of the couple I have always “married” with sensitivity and interest, there was and still is today the reuse or recycling, especially in elopements or micro weddings, of objects and family serviced items for the customization of the arrangements and in particular the table. Chiara and Massimo, the protagonists of this real wedding, not surprisingly chose Pianosa, one of the seven islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, where time seems to have stood still. A wild and intriguing island that gives us natural and wild landscapes that authentically and sublimely frame Love. Fabrics, lanterns, pillows, pouff and many woods sanded and returned from the sea were used to set up their wedding (elopement). To conclude a romantic dinner under a gazebo and a “triumph” of candles with a table set with serviced food and household items.
