SAN GIMIGNANO – FATTORIE SANTO PIETRO

San Gimignano

Tuscany is one of Italy’s most popular regions for its wonderful beaches, rolling hills, culinary traditions, and its magnificent villages, among which San Gimignano, where Manuel & Dyego decided to get married. The area of San Gimignano and its surroundings is one of the areas of Tuscany where one can spend time immersed in nature and silence. The area of San Gimignano, in addition to being among the most beautiful from a landscape and natural point of view, has a great deal to offer in terms of history and culture. Thanks to the magnificent medieval architecture of its historic center, San Gimignano has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This village is known for its numerous medieval towers, which make it truly unique. At the height of its prosperity, wealthy local families even built as many as 72 towers symbolizing power and prosperity; today, 13 of them remain. San Gimignano is not only about history and architecture, but also excellent local products such as saffron and a white wine called Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

Manuel and Dyego’s green wedding

Fragrant herbs, lavender, olive branches, eco-friendly decor, invitation cards made from recycled paper, organic wedding favors, and an all-local menu… The beautiful Tuscan hills, the ancient towers of San Gimignano in the Terre di Siena, and the Fattorie Santo Pietro provided the backdrop for the green wedding of Manuel and Dyego, an Italian-Brazilian couple who met in London, where they currently live. They chose Tuscany, a land they love for its art, nature, and the warm colors of its unspoiled medieval landscape, to celebrate their love with an eco-friendly wedding. From our very first meeting, Manuel and Dyego’s idea was to reduce the impact of their event on our planet as much as possible, paying close attention to every choice and every detail, being fully aware of the consumption of environmental resources. Theirs was a same-sex green wedding: a sustainable dream come true, immersed in history and nature. When organizing a green wedding in Tuscany, it is essential to take many aspects into account, including the choice of a venue that respects the principles of eco-sustainability, and fortunately Tuscany offers many such locations.
