Lydia and Ben chose Elba Island to celebrate their wedding. They live in Australia, where they met and discovered that both their families come from Elba: his from Rio Marina, hers from Cavo (a small village near Rio Marina). Their wedding was a destination wedding with 130 guests from Australia and other parts of the world. Porto Azzurro, one of Elba’s most picturesque villages, was the perfect setting for their weekend wedding, which they celebrated with a party at the Lisca e Osso restaurant, located in one of the town’s typical narrow alleys, on the day before the wedding. The actual wedding celebrations comprised a symbolic ceremony held seafront in the Piazzetta Italo Sapere and a reception at the La Caletta restaurant, overlooking Mola Bay. Lydia and Ben’s wedding was a beautiful journey of love to travel back to the places where their ancestors lived and rediscover their roots and heritage. Watch the video.
