MEDOLE – CONVENT OF THE ANNUNCIATA
A Thousand and one Night Wedding
I still remember when the maître of the Hotel Hermitage, on Elba Island, called to tell me that a couple from Verona visiting on vacation wanted to meet me to recommend me to their daughter as a wedding planner. The day before, I had hosted a beautiful wedding right there, at the Hotel Hermitage, for a Belgian couple. And so it was that I traveled to Verona to meet Olivia and Luca, who had chosen the Convento dell’Annunciata in Medole, in the province of Mantua, as their wedding venue. This wedding in Lombardy and another one held on Capraia Island, in the Tuscan Archipelago, were the first off-site events I organized. Olivia, a psychologist of Indian descent, and Luca, a pathologist from Abruzzo, proved to be nothing short of wonderful. From our very first meeting, we established a lovely relationship: they believed in me and trusted both my taste and expertise wholeheartedly. Their wedding was like a wondrous fairytale in which time seemed to stand still: the civil ceremony, held in the woods at the foot of a hidden lake that looked like a wonderland inhabited by elves and gnomes, was followed by cocktails and dinner “enveloped” by the majestic walls of the Convento dell’Annunciata aglow with candlelight. A wedding straight out of Dreamland, which ended with the cutting of the cake and a fabulous party. Find out more here.
